I’ve spent my career in obstetrics fighting for the lives of my tiniest patients: the preborn. From the moment of conception, they are unique human beings, each with their own DNA, blood type, heartbeat, and future, each one distinct and individual from any other person on earth.

My foundational belief is simple but weighty: A patient is a person, no matter how small. But the work of protecting life doesn’t stop in the delivery room. To build a culture that truly values life, we must go beyond the moment of birth and effectively support life in our daily actions, both privately and politically.

Living Out Pro-Life Values in Our Daily Lives

Being pro-life is more than a quiet belief, held sincerely but silently in the closet of your heart. It’s a call to action. And that action begins in our homes, churches, and communities. One of the most powerful ways we can champion life is through compassionate support for women who are facing unexpected pregnancies. This can mean donating to local pregnancy resource centers, offering childcare, providing transportation to medical appointments, adopting, or even opening our homes to a mother in crisis. These aren’t just acts of charity. They are life-saving interventions.

Education is also critical. When people learn the scientific truth of fetal development—a beating heart 22 days after conception; fingerprints at ten weeks; crying, stretching and hiccuping while in the womb—they begin to see the preborn not as “potential” life but as living people. That’s why we developed the ProLife Doc curriculum: to equip others with clear, medically sound information that empowers them to speak up for life with confidence and compassion.

Sometimes, the most meaningful conversations happen one-on-one. I’ve seen hearts soften when someone takes the time to fully listen to and engage with a person who supports abortion, treating them not as an opponent, but as a fellow image-bearer of God. This kind of respectful dialogue is where real change begins.

Bringing Pro-Life Convictions Into the Public Square

Private action is powerful, but as Charlie Kirk, Lila Rose, and other well-known voices in the movement have taught us, political engagement moves mountains. Laws shape culture. When we support candidates and policies that protect the preborn and honor the dignity of mothers, we aren’t imposing our values; we’re advocating for the voiceless, the tiny patients who cannot yet plead their own case.

I often speak to legislators about what doctors see every day in the ultrasound room: human life, fully alive, beautifully designed, and worthy of protection. Policies like parental notification, informed consent, and abortion pill reversal save lives, giving women more information and more time to make a decision they won’t regret.

For an example of true health care, look at the reversal of mifepristone. Many women who begin a chemical abortion immediately regret it. Thanks to the abortion pill reversal protocol, we’ve been able to help rescue thousands of babies and give those mothers a second chance to choose life. Jorel Godsey, President at Heartbeat International, recently announced that the Abortion Pill Reversal ministry has documented over 7,000 successes—over 7000 precious lives saved. Last week, I performed my 20th successful reversal in 27 attempts. That’s the kind of solution-oriented, medically-grounded care we should be promoting at every level of government.

We also need to advocate for resources that support life after birth, like paid parental leave, adoption reforms, and accessible healthcare for young families. These aren’t “left” or “right” issues; they’re human issues. A true pro-life ethic embraces the whole person, from conception to natural death.

The Time to Act Is Now

The pro-life movement focuses on changing laws, but it’s built on changing hearts. And that happens when we live our convictions with courage, compassion, and clarity.

If you’re ready to move past mere words and put your pro-life beliefs into action, check out the ProLife Doc website and find tools you can use to champion life in private and public settings. Learn more about fetal development. Understand the science behind abortion pill reversal. Order our curriculum. Equip yourself to be a voice for the voiceless, both in your community and in your statehouse.

Together, we can build a culture that celebrates and safeguards every human life. Because a patient is a person, no matter how small.
