Every day, I meet women who are carrying far more than a baby. They’re carrying fears, pressures, unanswered questions, and sometimes, deep loneliness that makes them wonder if abortion might be a better choice than a life of solo struggle.
As a retired obstetrician and a man of faith, I’ve spent my life caring for mothers and their preborn children because I know what science confirms: life begins at conception. And abortion is never the better choice for either patient: the mother or the baby. A patient is a person, no matter how small, and each one has the same human rights as you and me. I have found that when a woman is equipped with truth, real support that addresses her needs, and compassionate care from her community, she is empowered to choose life for her baby, even in the most difficult circumstances.
You Are Not Alone: Real Help Is Closer Than You Think
Choosing life shouldn’t mean having to walk alone. Well, there’s good news: help is available. Whether you’re a mother facing an unexpected pregnancy or someone who wants to be a voice for the voiceless, there are life-affirming resources available in your community right now.
You can start by connecting with your local pregnancy resource centers. These centers quietly and faithfully carry out powerful work every day, offering free ultrasounds, parenting classes, counseling, and material assistance like diapers and formula. They also help connect young parents with a community of others like them, where they can cultivate friendships and form networks for encouragement and support. Many of these centers are staffed by trained professionals and volunteers who are ready to walk alongside women with no judgment, only compassion.
Churches and faith-based ministries also offer substantive aid. Many congregations partner with local pro-life clinics or host support groups for young mothers. Others have a network of women who are dedicated to providing material supplies and emotional support to new mothers. If you’re a member of a church, ask your pastor or outreach director what resources are available or how your church can do more.
Understanding the Miracle of Life Builds Confidence and Courage
One of the most powerful tools for empowering life is education. When people see the incredible detail and complexity of life in the womb, from the earliest heartbeat to the formation of fingerprints, it changes how they see each preborn child. This is why I travel the country speaking to medical professionals, students, and churches, helping people understand the miracle of human development from a scientific and medical perspective.
Knowledge equips us to speak clearly and compassionately about the sanctity of life. It helps young women recognize the value of their own bodies and the lives they carry. It helps communities support women with clear truth and sincere care, not shame or pressure.
That’s the heartbeat of our mission at ProLife Doc. We want to provide resources that educate, equip, and encourage. Through free video lectures, incisive blog posts, downloadable materials, or our curriculum designed for schools, churches, and small groups, we’re here to help you become confident in your pro-life stance and compassionate in how you share it.
